Homemade Butter
Butter! It's been demonized for so long as the cause of all our obesity problems, but recent research is starting to suggest that it might not be all bad.
Besides, butter tastes better.
I worked with this young guy who once came to the office with a tray full of chocolate brownies. The girls in the office flocked around him, cooing and making noises that I thought were unusually arousing.
After, we both looked at the pan, scraped clean. I asked him what his secret was and he replied that he had found a recipe on the internet, but he had just used much more butter.
I nodded sagely.
Jon Sarriugarte posted a How-To on making homemade butter, with a few pictures of his young daughter helping to churn it.
Well, at least, he linked to a How-To.
It definitely looks like something that goes well with all those homemade pancakes!
I remember I went ot a farm, with my elementary school class, and we got to make ice cream, churn butter and make candles. Making the butter was the most frustrating, because it was a lot of work, for something that we didn't really want to eat... after all, we were there for the ice cream.
I also tried milking a cow, but I knew, instinctively, that it would be easier just ot buy it from the store. Even at a young age, my mind was sharp and focused.
