Grilled Peaches with Cinnamon and Rosemary
September 4th 2008 23:43
This dessert recipe is very much in line with the other food recipes I have previously posted -- simple but delicious.
Peaches are one of my favourite fruits. When ripe, they are so full of juice that a single bite of it would send a tsunami of juice down your chin and a wave of sweetiness and tart into your mouth. Grilled peaches are perfect for when the peach is less ripe and they taste fantastic with cinnamon and rosemary.
Ingredients:
4 Peaches
1 tbsp Sugar
1/8 tsp cinnamon
2 tbsp Canola Oil
4 Sprigs Rosemary (minced)
Method:
1) Preheat the broiler if you plan to use it instead of a grill.
2) Rinse the peaches, pat dry, cut in half, and remove the pits before placing the peach halves on a baking tray.
3) Mix the sugar and cinnamon, stir in the oil, and brush the mixture over the peaches. Sprinkle with the rosemary. Marinate for 10 minutes, turning over and basting once.
3) Broil or grill (at 200 degrees Celsius) the marinated peaches for 2-3 minutes on each side, until they are tender but not soft.
Serve immediately, alone or with a scoop of vanilla or cinnamon ice cream.
