White Cake with Egg Whites
September 22nd 2008 00:01
I don't generally have a sweet tooth, which you may or may not have noticed, given the lack of dessert recipes I have shared on here. There are a few desserts that I quite like but can't be bothered making because a) I'm a lazy bugger and b) I like simple recipes and these are anything but simple.
This White Cake with Egg Whites recipe is simple enough that I can't excuse (b) and tasty enough for me to get off my backside and make some. And I'm sure you'll like it as much as I do.
Ingredients:
60g Flour
50g Sugar
2 Eggs
10g Emulsifying Agent
2 tbsp Butter
1 tsp Lemon Juice
2 drops Vanilla Essence
Method:
1) Preheat oven to 190 degrees Celsius.
2) Sieve flour.
3) Melt butter.
4) Combine sugar, egg white and whisk till stiff. Add in emulsifying agent and whisk for another 5 mins.
5) Add sieved flour and melted butter.
6) Pour mixture into a basking tray and bake for 20 minutes. Serve hot.
