Choc-chip slice squares!
Have you got a chip on your shoulder? Maybe you fell over whilst walking on flat ground and everyone turned and gave you a look and made you feel like a fool? Maybe you fell off a seat on the bus when you were half asleep and everyone around you laughed? Or maybe you think your course coordinators have it in for you, and are determined to make it hard for you, no matter what? If any of these apply, then maybe you need a Choc-chip slice square! It is loaded with ‘chips’, so maybe you’ll be able to relate! Haha
Actually, Choc-chip slice squares taste and look a lot like Choc-chip cookies, except of course for being a square shape, and being thicker and a softer consistency. So there’s no chances of chipped teeth today!
You can keep this slice in an airtight contained for up to 3 days. Alternatively, you could share it around, for example, with your friends who similarly have chips off of their shoulders. After all, nothing better than a dose of chocolate to calm everyone down!
Choc-chip slice squares
Ingredients: 120g butter softened, ½ cup caster sugar, ½ cup firmly packed brown sugar, 2 eggs, ¾ cup plain flour, ½ cup self-raising flour, 1 x 250g milk/dark Choc Bits extra for sprinkling
Steps: Preheat the oven to moderate, 180 degrees Celsius. Line a 20 x 20cm oven dish with non-stick baking paper, allowing it to overhang the sides.
Use electric beaters to beat together the butter and sugars in a large bowl until pale and creamy. Add the eggs and beat until combined. Sift the flours into the bowl and mix with a wooden spoon. Then add the Choc Bits and stir to combine.
Spoon the mixture into the lined dish, using the back of a spoon to spread evenly. Sprinkle extra Choc Bits on the surface and gently press them in. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until firm to touch. Remove from oven and leave to cool, then cut evenly into 16 pieces.
Makes 16 squares.

Thanks for sharing that. It does look very nice!
