Baked Oyster with Bacon and Cheese
March 11th 2008 22:25
The beauty of oysters - besides the fact that they taste absolutely divine - is they can be eaten freshly shucked, raw, smoked, boiled, baked, fried, roasted, stewed, etc. etc. Preparation can also be very simple or very elaborate, depending on your mood.
This following recipe is relatively simple but gives the oyster just the right amount of added taste and texture.
Ingredients:
Cheese (Cheddar)
1/2 Onion (diced)
2 Slice of middle Bacon (dice
Half a dozen oysters (freshly shucked or frozen)
3 tbsp White Wine
1 tsp Black Pepper
Little Parsley
Assorted vegetables (side)
Method:
1 ) Wash and wipe dry the oysters; set aside.
2) Dice bacon and onion. Heat pan and fragrant bacon. Add onion and cook till well done; season with grounded black pepper.
3) Stuff bacon and onion onto the oysters, sprinkle some white wine and grounded cheese.
4) Bake oysters at 200 degrees celsius for 15 minutes or till golden brown. Garnish with assorted vegetables and parsley.
Enjoy!
