Alice in Wonderland Waffles
Who would be able to pass up waffles titled “Alice in Wonderland” as a kid? I sure couldn’t! And that’s probably the reason why they always name delightful desserts targeted and children names like that! But take a look at that waffle! How good does it look! Hundreds and thousands really will perform miracles in making food child-friendly! Well.. maybe not vegetables.
The only draw-back of waffles is that you do indeed require a waffle maker to make them. I have often pondered about how to make waffles “waffle-maker-less” so to speak, but in the end, sadly, it just can’t be done! Because if you just use a flat pan, you simply end up with pancakes, and as all waffle-lovers will know, it just isn’t the same! Waffles =/= pancakes! Anyways, so if you don’t already have a waffle-maker maybe its time to invest in one!
Waffles
*You will require a waffle maker
Ingredients: 2 ¼ cup plain flour, 3 tsp baking powder, a pinch of salt, ¼ cup caster sugar, 3 eggs, 1 ½ cup milk, 125g butter
Steps: Sift the flour, baking powder and salt into a large bowl. Stir in the sugar. Whisk eggs together in a small bowl. Make a well in the centre and add the whisked eggs, milk and butter, then beat into a smooth batter. Use approximately ½ cup of batter for each waffle, and pour into waffle maker.
To Serve, decorate with hot chocolate sauce, hundreds and thousands and ice-cream! Yum!
